I’m thrilled to share the journey that led to Blair Botanicals—a brand rooted in my personal passion for natural wellness and, especially, for caring for locs.
In 2021, I began my own loc journey, embracing a hairstyle that felt authentic and empowering. But as someone with color-treated locs, I quickly realized the challenge of keeping them moisturized and healthy. Despite trying various products and DIY recipes based on others' successes, nothing seemed to work for my needs. My locs craved hydration, and I struggled to find products that would nourish and protect them while supporting my love for color.
This frustration fueled my determination to create something different. I wanted products that would allow me—and others with similar needs—to color, nurture, and celebrate our locs without compromise. In January 2023, I decided to step away from my corporate career, drawing on my background in supply chain management to start Blair Botanicals. With the help of a skilled chemist, we developed a line of natural, plant-based products designed specifically to meet the needs of color-treated locs, allowing them to thrive and remain vibrant.
By October 2023, Loc Bliss was born, blending ancestral wellness remedies with modern science. Each product in the Loc Bliss product line was crafted with the intent to simplify loc care, protect against dryness, and make it easy to enjoy color without damaging effects. The ingredients of the Loc Bliss Moisture Care line, from rose water to aloe vera and sunflower oil, are carefully chosen to provide deep, lasting moisture and promote natural hair health. And our TikTok viral satin lined caps keep hair from drying out day or night with their easy to wear and trendy look.
